IVA Advisory :
1 | Yellow fever: a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travellers coming from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Yellow fever vaccine recommendation: no Malaria: Malaria risk–P. falciparum and P. vivax– exists from May through November below 2000 m. P. falciparum resistant to chloroquine and sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine reported. Recommended prevention in risk areas: Type IV: (1) High risk of P. falciparum malaria, combined with reported antimalarial drug resistance; or (2) Moderate/low risk of P. falciparum malaria, combined with reported high levels of drug resistanceb. Mosquito bite prevention plus atovaquone–proguanil, doxycycline or mefloquine chemoprophylaxis (select according to reported resistance pattern |
2 | Tourists are to report to the Tourist Bureau, Press Department, Kabul on arrival. Permission of this office is also necessary for photography/ filming in Afghanistan. |
3 | All visitors are required to obtain an exit permit prior to departure from Afghanistan. |
