Ghrishneshwar

Ghrishneshwar Just half a kilometre from the Ellora Caves is Grineshwar Temple, also known as Ghrushneshwar, which enshrines one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Shiva. The temple walls are richly sculptured. Both the temple and its masonry tank were built by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, who ruled Indore from 1765 to 1795.

The shrine was also renovated by Maloji Raje Bhosale of Verul. 40 km away, Aurangabad city in Maharashtra makes for an excellent travel base to visit this sacred shrine which attracts pilgrims from far and wide.
