Nanded

A beguiling mix of ancient and modern, Nanded, headquarter of the district of the same name, is a sacred destination for the Sikhs.
The presence of temple and Sufi shrines also attract devotees of other faiths. Situated on the banks of the Godavari River, the town is famous for its undisputed highlight “Huzur Sahib Sachkhand Gurudwara”, built on the place where Guru Govind Singh, the last Guru of the Sikhs, breathed his last.
A city of antiquity, it came under the rule of various dynasties such as the Satvahanas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Kakatiyas, Yadavas, Bahamanis, Adilshahis and finally the Mughals.
Today, Nanded is also an important business and trading centre.
