Pattadakal

22 km from Badami, the ancient capital of the eastern Chalukyas, Pattadakal, today, is a small settlement in the state of Karnataka. Still, the place is a huge drawcard for tourists. The reason is obvious. Today, the ancient temples of eastern Chalukyas, built in the 7th and 8th centuries at Pattadakal, survive to be awe-inspiring spectacles for the flocks of tourists who throng to them.
