IVA Advisory :

1. Tourists wanting to visit the Restricted Areas in China are required to get permission from Chinese authorities.

2. Indian nationals wishing to travel to Tibet in China may join:

(A) Pilgrimage: Group of pilgrims is organized by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The Embassy accepts visa applications of pilgrimage group submitted by the Ministry of External Affairs only.

(B) Ordinary Tourist Group: Tourist group of Indian nationals can be organized by local Indian travel agent with agreement from CITS Tibet (China International Travel Service, Tibet). Group visa may be isssued only after the Embassy has received approval from Tourism Bureau of Tibetan Autonomous Region. 3. Yellow fever: a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travellers over 9 months of age arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Yellow fever vaccine recommendation: no. Malaria: Malaria risk, including P. falciparum malaria, exists in Yunnan and to a lesser extent in Hainan. P. falciparum resistance to chloroquine and sulfadoxine–pyrimethamine reported. Limited risk of P. vivax malaria exists in southern and some central provinces, including Anhui, Ghuizhou, Henan, Hubei, Jiangsu. There is no malaria risk in urban areas. Recommended prevention in risk areas: II. Type II: Risk of P. vivax malaria only; or fully chloroquine-sensitive P. falciparum. Mosquito bite prevention plus chloroquine chemoprophylaxis. in Hainan and Yunnan, IV . Type IV: (1) High risk of P. falciparum malaria, combined with reported antimalarial drug resistance; or (2) Moderate/low risk of P. falciparum malaria, combined with reported high levels of drug resistanceb. Mosquito bite prevention plus atovaquone–proguanil, doxycycline or mefloquine chemoprophylaxis (select according to reported resistance pattern)

4. Airport tax: No Tax.
