Tourist Visa ("L" Visa)

Tourist and Family Visit Visa (L-Visa) is issued to a foreign citizen coming to China for tourism, family visit or other personal affairs.

If you have more than 20 Visa Applications cases then you need to take an appointment with VFS before submitting them.

Original passport should have at least six months left before it expires. If you want to apply for a 6-month or 1-year multiple entry visa, there should be at least one year or one and a half years left before it expires and minimum 2 blank visa pages.
Photocopy of personal data page of applicant’s passport.
One completed Visa Application Form (e-Form / Download):

All the items on the application form should be completed neatly with genuine information.
If the applicant has a Chinese name, the Chinese name should be filled in; false or incomplete information and illegible characters may lead to refusal of a visa.
Kindly note that there should be No cutting / overwriting / correction in the application form.
Use of whitener is strictly prohibited.
The applicant is required to put a CROSS (X) MARK rather than a TICK MARK in the boxes appearing in the form.

Proof of sufficient finances to cover all expenditures in China when requied.
Confirmed return flight ticket and its photocopy.
Covering letter from applicant’s company or office.
Original Invitation Letter from China (a company or a person), Tourist Agenda, Personal Written Statement (with details as follows: A. name of the scenic spot; B. name, address and contact number of the inviting company or person; C. name and contact number of the applicant's working unit in India).
If the applicant could not provide an Invitation Letter from China, the following documents are needed:

Tourist Agenda.
A copy of confirmed return air ticket and hotel reservation bill.
Personal Written Statement (Covering Letter, with details as follows: A. name of the scenic spot; B. name, address and contact number of the inviting(contact company or person).
Certification letter from the working unit of the applicant (with details as follows: name and contact number of the working unit.
An original Bank Statement of the Applicant for the last 6 months with the Bank seal and signature of authorized signatory on each page. The minimum balance in the account should be INR 1.5 lacs.

All the Travel Agents/ Representatives need to provide the original Authority Letter on the letter head of their Travel Agency/ Company along with each application:

Company/Travel agency profile.
Full Name and the Employee ID of the agent/representative.
Details of the applicants (Full name and Passport number).
Authorized signatory's signature, designation and the stamp of the company/travel agency.

Applying Tourist Visa for Visiting Families, the following documents are required:

Application Form with recently-taken color photo glued or stapled on.
Valid Passport and a copy of its information page .
The original and copy of the Kinship Certificate or the Birth Certificate and the Marriage Certificate.
An Invitation Letter from the relatives in China.
Personal Written Statement (Covering Letter,with details as follows: A. Destination; B. name, address and contact number of the inviting(contact company or person).
Other documents required by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General.

An applicant holding a passport other than Indian passport should provide the original and a copy of their permanent residence or work permit which should be valid for at least half a year (except for those who are visa or permit exempt for residing or working in India).
Tourists planning to visit Tibet should contact the Tourism Administration of the Tibet Autonomous Region (Tel: 0086-891-6834313; Fax: 0086-891-6834632) and provide visa notification issued by it.
Foreigners applying for special tour to China should provide visa notification issued by China National Tourism Administration or the tourism administration of related province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government. Special tour includes: self-driving, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, hot air balloon, or other expeditions.
Processing time is 4 working days.
Urgent visa can be processed by the next working day (applications should be submitted before 11:00 a.m. Visa will be ready for collection at 2:00 p.m. on the second working day.
Visa fees and Service fee has to be paid when collecting the passport from VFS Center.

Note:
1. Visa fee are collected on behalf of the Chinese Embassy by VFS.
2. Application Service Fee are charged by the Center and they are non-refundable.
3. The total amount of the fees to be paid by an Applicant = Visa Fee + Application Service Fees in cash.
4. If the Applicant requests Courier Delivery Service of his / her processed application, he / she need to pay visa fees + application service fees + courier delivery fees (INR 200/-) in advance at the time of submission.
5. For Express Service (next working day collection), application should be submitted your before 11:00 am, and be picked up after 2:00 pm the next working day.

Business Visa ("F" Visa)

Business Visa (F-visa) is issued to a foreign citizen who is invited to China for visit, research, lecture, business, exchanges in the fields of science, technology, education, culture and sports, for attending various kinds of trade fairs or exhibitions, or short-term study, intern practice, for a period of no more than 6 months.

Original passport should have at least six months left before it expires. If you want to apply for a 6-month or 1-year multiple entry visa, there should be at least one year or one and a half years left before it expires and minimum 2 blank visa pages.
Photocopy of personal data page of applicant’s passport.

Original and copy of one of the following documents: Invitation Letter or Confirmation Letter of Invitation issued by duly authorized Chinese institute, relevant formal business documents showing the activities the applicant will attend, Conference Notice, Invitation of Trade Fair, Business License of Foreign-invested Enterprises in China with the applicant's name on.
Covering letter from applicant's company or office with the details of the visiting purpose.

Admission Notice (original and copy).

Student Visa (X-visa) is issued to a foreign citizen who comes to China for the purpose of study for a period of six or more months. Those intending to study in China for less than six months should apply for a business visa (F-visa).

Employment Approval Documents required:

Z-visa is usually issued with a single entry, valid for 3 months and with no duration of stay (i.e. 000 day of stay). Holders of work visa should go through the formalities for a residence permit at a local public security bureau within 30 days after entry into China, to avoid illegal stay in China. The period of validity of the residence permit is its holder's duration of stay in China.
Consular officers decide on the visa's period of validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of China's laws and regulations.
The decision to issue a visa and its type shall be decided by Consular officers in the light of China's relevant laws and regulations.

Note:

Please Note:
(i) Applications should be made not more than 3 months and not less than 1 month ahead of the intended date of entry into China. Failure to submit visa application at an appropriate time, may lead to the refusal of visa or the expiry of an already-issued visa.
(ii) The visa application form should be fully filled in and signed by the Applicant upon completion (application for an Applicant under 18 years of age should be signed by one the parents). Items which are not applicable should be filled in with N/A.
(iii) Consular officers may request an Applicant to provide additional supporting documents when called for. The Applicant should provide it as soon as possible.

A covering letter from the husband/ father giving all his personal details and he should mention that he will will take care of all the expenses. The letter should be addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of the People's Republic of China, New Delhi - 110 021.
A formal invitation from husband/ father inviting his wife/ child.
Visa notification letter issued by Chinese Goverment in favor of applicant.
Original Marriage / Birth certificate of the applicant.
Physical Examination from, the photogarph to be pasted on it and should be attested by the doctor.
A copy of the passport, visa, working card and any other relevant document of the husband/ father.
Processing time is 4 working days in normal process.
