Tourist

Note: Indian Passport holders can also obtain a Tourist Visa for 30 days on Arrival at an Ethiopian Airport. Visa fee to be paid in US $ 20 equivalent to INR.

• The Applicant should have a passport valid for 6 months from the date of issuance of the visa.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed).
• One passport-size photograph.
• A Covering Letter from the Applicant.
• Confirmed return air ticket.
• Hotel Reservation.
• If visiting friends or relatives a Letter of Invitation/ Sponsorship Letter (duly attested by the Ministry of Immigration, in Ethiopia) is required.
• Updated Bank statement for the last 6 months.
• A Health Certificate confirming vaccination against Yellow Fever.
• Proof of funds and a declaration stating that the traveler holds sufficient funds to cover the period of stay @ USD 50 per day and that the traveler will stay in a foreign tourist hotel in Ethiopia.
• Visa is valid for 90 days and is issued for a stay of up to 30 days with single entry only.
• Processing time is 2 to 3 working days.

Note: Visa fee has to be paid in the form of a Bank Draft in favor of "Ethiopian Embassy" payable in New Delhi.

Business

• The Applicant should have a passport valid for 6 months from the date of issuance of the visa.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed).
• One passport-size photograph.
• A Covering Letter from the Indian company.
• A Letter of Invitation from the Business associates in Ethiopia to be faxed directly to the Embassy.
• A Letter of recommendation from an Indian Chamber of Commerce / Export Promotion Council in case the traveller is going for the first time.
• A copy of the Business License from the Associates in Ethiopia.
• Confirmed return air ticket.
• Hotel Reservation.
• If visiting friends or relatives a Letter of Invitation/ Sponsorship Letter (duly attested by the Ministry of Immigration, in Ethiopia) is required.
• Updated bank statement for the last six months.
• Health Certificate confirming vaccination against Yellow Fever.
• Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years.
• Proof of funds and a declaration stating that the traveler holds sufficient funds to cover the period of stay @ USD 50 per day and that the traveler will stay in a foreign tourist hotel in Ethiopia.
• Visa is valid for 90 days and is issued for a stay of up to 30 days with single entry.
• Processing time is 2 to 3 working days.

Transit

• The Applicant should have a passport valid for 6 months from the date of issuance of the visa.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed).
• One passport-size photograph.
• A Covering Letter from the Applicant.
• Confirmed onward air ticket.
• Onward country visa.
• Updated Bank statement for the last six months.
• Health Certificate confirming vaccination against Yellow Fever.
• The visa is valid for 30 days from date of issue with a maximum period of stay of 7 days.
• Processing time is 2 to 3 working days.

Note: Visa fee has to be paid in the form of a Bank Draft in favor of "Ethiopian Embassy" payable in New Delhi.

Seamen

• The Applicant should have a passport valid for 6 months from the date of issuance of the visa.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed).
• One passport-size photograph.
• A Covering Letter from the Indian company.
• A message/ fax from the Shipping Company in Ethiopia sent directly to the Embassy stating particulars of the Seamen and date and port of joining the ship is also required.
• Confirmed return air ticket.
• Onward country visa.
• Health Certificate confirming vaccination against Yellow Fever.
• Indian seamen traveling on duty must hold Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company.
• Seamen Booklet.
• Processing time is 2 to 3 working days.

Work Permit

No visa is issued by the Embassy in Delhi.
